Mount Nebo, north-west of Brisbane, is named after the mountain in Jordan where Moses was granted an extensive view of the 'Promised Land'. With a narrower view of the Jordan Valley to the north, and the cities of Jericho and Jerusalem both visible in clear weather, it is hence a place of broad religious significance. Its Queensland incarnation is a popular destination for tourists and bushwalkers.
