Born in 1977, Adamson-Pinczewski has completed a BA (Fine Art) at Monash University (1998), an MFA at Melbourne University’s VCA (2003), and a PhD at RMIT University (2013). She was artist in residence at the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation in New York, USA (2013) and at the Cité International des Arts, Paris. Focused on geometric abstraction through her use of reflective and refractive materials, in particular metallic and iridescent paint colours, her optically stimulating, sometimes disorienting, paintings and sculptures have been exhibited nationally and internationally at institutional and private galleries since 1998. In 2021 Town Hall Gallery in Hawthorn, Melbourne, held a survey of her work, Light Gestures: Samara Adamson-Pinczewski.

Since its establishment in 1984, the Charles Nodrum Gallery’s exhibition program embraces a diversity of media and styles - from painting, sculpture & works on paper to graphics and photography; from figurative, geometric, gestural, surrealist & social comment to installation & conceptually based work.
