Gallery Artists at the VCA
— Friday 16th June 2017
ART 150 is a celebration throughout 2017 of the distinguished history of the Victorian College of the Art’s School of Art, its genesis in the National Gallery Art School in the 19th century, its rich 20th-century history and its 21st-century present and future.
For the 9 x 5 NOW Exhibition, VCA alumni spanning generations of Australia’s most beloved and collectable practitioners have donated works that will be sold, some at generously reduced prices, to fund a new scholarship for VCA student artists and recent graduates.
Sadie Chandler will include a work from her recent Factorywork series, David Harley will include a recent moving painting to be viewed on an ipad, Tom Alberts will include a self portrait in front of the Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Lynne Boyd will include a view to the bottom of the sea, and Jan Murray will trick you into thinking you're looking at an air vent in the wall...
