"The images viewed here were from a group of collaged slides projected in rapid sequence during the performance of "The Battlefield". Since the last performance of this work, the slides were stored in a damp situation. The dye base ran and mould developed. The first reaction was to throw the destroyed images into the bin. I resisted, and a year later realised that the changes brought about the damp had produced a series of altered images which, with some manipulation, extended the original metaphor. The results took on the appearance of fragments which had survived a holocaust of one sort or another." Arthur Wicks
