Provenance: The Artist

Exhibited: Kristin Headlam - Seasonal Adjustments, Charles Nodrum Gallery, 9 June - 2 July, 2011, No. 13

Note: Felix Riebl co-founded The Cat Empire in the late 1990s and the band has since developed a global following with multi-platinum albums and international tours. Felix was the principle writer of their first album and the sole writer of their hit song “Hello”.
Since then he has pursued a solo career, as well as composing music for the Commonwealth Games in 2006 and the inaugural White Night in Melbourne. A recent notable project sought to raise awareness about indigenous deaths in custody whereby Riebl produced his song ‘Ms Dhu’ in collaboration with the Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir. And a few months ago he released his latest album Spinifex Gum which features the choir once again, together with Peter Garrett, Emma Donovan and Briggs. Chiefly a protest album, the full story is online: http://www.spinifexgum.com/#newalbum
